I purchased Office Ultimate from the “Microsoft Ultimate Steal Deal” for students in , and downloaded through digitalriver; i now have a new laptop and would like to download and install on it. I know bunches of people are asking the same question you had last May because I ran into the same issue. I was searching for answers online and was being told to contact Microsoft about the issue.

Then, I was being accused of not backing up my downloadable files by people who had responded–which I had done in addition to purchasing it. Unless you’re really set on safeguarding everythinggg in every possible way, there are always chances you’ll lose important discs or forget to save a file elsewhere.

Needless to say, I forget about my predicament until recently. I decided to figure something out and went through my own attempts to retrieve the downloadable version. This page allowed me to enter my Serial Code and sent me to a download for Professional version. I did NOT try the download because I wasn’t sure that it’d actually work. However, if you want a secure option to try, you can attempt this as it comes from the Microsoft site. If anything happens or you can’t activate, you can just report the steps you took to Microsoft Customer Service and maybe figure something out.

You’ll be safeguarded from being accused of trying to steal, for instance, because you went to a verified site and simply entered your serial. It just so happens, I’m not sure that Professional will work as the student version I purchased Ultimate However and perhaps this is of interest to you and anyone else , I was lucky to find my e-mail receipt with the information of my purchase back in I was able to recover a link to the version I purchased that was entitled The Ultimate Steal.

Please note that I do not condone piracy of any sort. I seemed to have gone through the underworld and back trying to track down a solution. I am merely opening my arms and reaching out to anyone who has had this happen to them and found themselves in anguish and without resolve. Just making sure you know there is no funny business here.
