That is not entirely true, or accurate. If a backup is in the middle of it’s process and a shutdown is given to the machine, this will happen. Other things can cause this to happen. Check your event log. But it wasn’t in the middle of a backup was it?. If they have been downloaded to 7 and a shutdown is initiated 7 will start installing them. I assume the slightly different wording arises from the OP using the German version. Thanks for your reply. Eventlog writs no interesting entries, only that after my logout a process will login but no h ng d n s d ng acronis true image home 2010 free information. I used this on TI and am continuing to use it with TI It shuts my machine down reliably.
Whilst this isn’t directly related to your issue, it can be used as an indicator as to which programs are causing problems with sleeping, hibernation. Open a command prompt using Admin capabilities, the type in powercfg -energy this will take 60 seonds and will produce an HTML report that shows all processes that are interfering with sleep and following on from that possibly shutdown.
I would expect to see scheduler or scheduler2 listed. With ABR For what it is worth, this happened to me too. I waited over an hour while this message stayed on the screen and finally I shut the computer down and re-started.
I have not re-started since. Windows 7 Ultimate. Sounds like a long standing problem and still not resolved as of today, November 13, I have the same issue. Win7 64 Pro. I left my machine on overnight last night with the “Operations in Progress” message and it was still on the screen more than 12 hours later. No backups were scheduled to run during that time. The worst part is that if I use the power button to turn it off – and that’s the only way I can get out of it – it causes my Intel RAID software to start rebuilding my drives.
There’s nothing wrong with нажмите чтобы узнать больше drives or my RAID. Have you run the power config utility in Windows as outlined in my post 10 above? Whilst it is apparent that TI is causing this problem, it often seems to be in conjunction with other device drivers that are already causing a problem, but for some reason not manifesting itself until TI is installed.
As an example I run ABR I ran that but I had already disabled the scheduling in ATI except for one File Backup job that runs at pm at the h ng d n s d ng acronis true image home 2010 free of my normal workday. The only concession I have to power saving is to put my monitors to sleep after about 30 minutes. I’m going to try for another few days with the Full Backup scheduling disabled and see if the results are better. Believe me – I’m not overly harsh with software developers because I’ve been a developer for over 25 years so I have some understanding and sympathy for battling the Wintendo operating systems.
I want this solution to work for me because I like ATI overall. Still, the interruption of my work schedule is not something I can just “live with” and tinkering with ATI is not on my current task list. I just don’t want to keep changing because that’s also a time-sink I would prefer to avoid.
I agree completely with Al. This is a serious issue. I like ATI and will continue using certain components. However, I am now searching for an alternative online backup method. Unless this is fixed by Acronis soon I will not renew my cloud space rental. Thank you, John. FYI: I don’t even use the cloud backup stuff. I’m backing up very large databases so, cloud isn’t an option for me.
Also, I noticed that there is something running in my processes called “Non-stop backup” or some such and I don’t want that running either but I couldn’t kill it. Maybe what we all need is just better configuration options. I looked at some docs in some older posts and the UI was different. Since I’m fairly new to the product, I didn’t recognize those screen shots.
To save getting warning or error messages on startup, make sure you have logged out of Sync top right of main GUI showing your email address if logged in before disabling the service.
However, I highly recommend that the message say that TI is running. The consequences of killing a backup is much worse than interrupting a hung update. I’ve spent the weekend trying to fix the updates on my machine to remove this message only to find it is not Windows at fault. Sometimes TI hands indefinately on Windows 7 and Cancel has zero effect. The only recourse is to reboot I think everyone should read the “More Information” section of kb article in above post and follow the instructions listed.
Maybe that way this will get the attention needed. Using VSS Doctor. I agree. I wish Acronis would allow a backup to completely terminate if it hangs for longer than some user configurable time period. I can’t kill a hung backup with process explorer, etc. It is extremely tenacious. It would be tolerable if TI would respect a “Cancel” command from the user. However, on my Windows 7 machine those have zero impact on the process running. It just ignores “Cancel”.
This problem makes me force shut down. This problem was happening to me until a few days ago among other issues I have with ATI It seems I might have a bad install on one machine family pack and am afraid to remove and reinstall. I try to get ATI to stop backing up anything but the settings just don’t get saved. Each time I open the application I see it says it wants to do a back up even though I told it to not schedule. It continues to back up with no indication it is doing so.
If it is in the middle of a back up and Приведу ссылку don’t know it and H ng d n s d ng acronis true image home 2010 free shut down the system it won’t shut off until the back up is complete. It’s then that I get that message. I’m very surprised that someone would think it’s a Windows issue. I don’t see the drives represented with a check on the system C: drive. I see a blank page.
If I click on the back up selection it starts a back up and the only way I know is to look at my task bar icon. I can end that back up with a cancel but it wants to continue over and over. Finally it stops and then I can shut down the system. I’m rather disappointed that this is still happening h ng d n s d ng acronis true image home 2010 free all this time and reading the posts from last year.
I had high hopes for this program but now I am not so enthusiastic. I’m waiting to hear from support about what to do. I see instructions on детальнее на этой странице to repair and remove ATI but they don’t correctly represent what I see on my screen so I hesitate.
Like others I don’t have much time to spend debugging the software. If this issue isn’t resolved soon I will ask for нажмите чтобы увидеть больше refund. Here is yet another problem I have been having since updating from TI which worked great to TI Premium yesterday.
Aside from backups that go from 3 to 12 hours and never complete, if I cancel the backup and then attempting to restart, I get to stare at this message for about two hours before server 2012 standard y datacenter free. Needless to say, it makes attempting to resolve the non-finishing backup problem even more problematic. I wish I had read these forums before upgrading.
